Title

Nikolai Khomenko, the author of OTSM, passed away on 27th of March, 2011

The author of OTSM, Nikolai Khomenko passed away on 27th of March 2011 in Canada.

On 15th of March, Nikolai Khomenko and Hongyul Yoon exchanged mails about the paper which was
supposed to present in a conference but he didn't mention about his suffering.

So, we didn't even guess the sad news of his passing.
That made us much more sorrowful.

Nikolai Khomenko is really special to all Korean TRIZ experts
because he was the first Russian TRIZ Master who was invited in South Korea.

Nikolai Khomenko was born on 12th of September 1954 in Ukraine.

Altshuller originated the name, OTSM, 'General Theory of Powerful Thinking', researched OTSM with Nikolai Khomenko,
and after Altshuller's passing, Nikolai Khomenko has been developing OTSM into concrete and practical thinking ways.

Nikolai Khomenko opened a broad road to the new world of creativity and problem solving through OTSM.
He introduced the power of ENV model, the extended version of talented thinking
(the full-scheme version of multi screen thinking),
four technologies as general ways to treat problems,
networks of problem flow approach as a network version of ARIZ, etc.

His Tongs Model, OTSM Express Analysis, Harmful Machine Model, and others
are the most frequently adopted pedestal to a lot of other TRIZ experts' theories.

In 1997, Hongyul Yoon met Nikolai Khomenko in South Korea, 'for the first time'.
At the first meeting with Hongyul Yoon, Nikolai Khomenko explained about 'ENV Model'
and since then, all services of TRIZ Center have been done through Nikolai Khomenko' help.

Without Nikolai Khomenko's valuable advice and support,
any practical service could not be done through TRIZ Center.
If any customer of TRIZ Center has been satisfied, that must be from Nikolai Khomenko's teaching and aid.

Hongyul Yoon and TRIZ Center has owed him what they have achieved so far.

All Hongyul Yoon's joyful and happy memories with him say that Nikolai Khomenko was so generous to all people,
especially to the weak and poor.

During the travels of him and Hongyul Yoon in Canada, Europe, Japan, and South Korea,
Nikolai Khomenko showed warm love to the weakest people on the streets and all places.

As for Hongyul Yoon, Nikolai Khomenko was, is and will be a UNIQUE person, respectable teacher, true friend,
always-reliable adviser and, more than anything, ONLY-GIVING guide in life.

He has given happiness to Hongyul Yoon when seeing each other, emptiness when being separated.

Hongyul Yoon never forget Nikolai Khomenko's love for him.

Hongyul Yoon and TRIZ Center would like to ask the family of Nikolai Khomenko
to accept our deepest sympathy and condolences.

We don't find adequate words to express our sympathy and sorrow.
We will always remember Nikolai Khomenko in our prayers.
